The resource below will be regularly updated as the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) provides updated information.
Special note from the BSS regarding 2022 – Q1 2023 arrival data:
After the physical Embarkation/Disembarkation card was eliminated and the electronic sources (Kiosk and Online ED card) became the principal methods of data collection of visitor arrivals; some challenges arose leading to the underestimation of the monthly long-stay tourist arrival statistics. To this end, it was determined that there was a need for a revision of the processed numbers for the twelve (12) months of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.
Consequently, the Barbados Statistical Service has revised its visitor arrival numbers for the aforementioned periods using the new reconciliation process agreed upon by some of the key stakeholders in the tourism sector.
This data really tells the tale of how badly tourism economies like Barbados were hit by COVID.
